Job summary

Patient First is hiring a clinical support professional to join our team. The role supports patient intake, vitals, triage, and preparation for exams under supervision of Physicians and Nurses.

You will use the EMR system, order labs and supplies, and assist with various treatments while maintaining a clean, patient-friendly environment. We value CNA certification, 1+ year of clinical experience, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Locating patients.
• Obtaining accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures.
• Triage of patients.
• Assessing patients’ medical condition.
• Preparing patients for physicals and medical treatment by Physicians and Nurses.
• Understanding and using the electronic medical record system.
• Ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed.
• Notifying the Nurse/Physician when patient ready for exam and communicating symptoms.
• Assisting Nurses and Physicians with various patient treatments.
• Handling Physician and Nurse requests in a timely manner.
• Performing lab duties as assigned.
• Performing phlebotomy procedures.
• Sterilizing and setting up instruments.
