Job summary

St. Joseph's Home Health, Inc. provides in-home care to elderly patients and those recovering from surgery or illness. The caregiver will assist with personal hygiene, mobility, meals, medication reminders, and light housekeeping to support daily living.

The role requires at least 1 year of healthcare or in-home care experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Availability for nights/weekends and experience with Hoyer lifts are valued.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with mobility.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• High School Diploma or CNA/HHA training.
• Experience in healthcare/home care preferred (min 1 year).
• Willingness to work nights/weekends and flexible shifts.
• Compassionate, patient, and safety-conscious.
• Empathetic and able to work one-on-one with clients.
• Hoyer lift experience for client handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Plan and prepare meals
• Assist with physical therapy exercises
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that areessential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary
