Job summary

Ambercare in New Mexico is hiring an entry-level Certified Nursing Assistant to support seniors and people with disabilities at home. You'll provide personal care, companionship, and help with daily activities in clients' residences, with flexible, part-time hours.

As an Ambercare CNA, you must complete CNA training, pass a background check and hold a valid driver's license. Strong communication, reliability and compassion are essential as you help clients stay independent.

Qualifications

• Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant training required.
• Background check completed and valid driver's license required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Desire to compassionately care for others.
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized.

Responsibilities

• Remind clients to take medication at the appropriate time.
• Assist the client with therapy exercises under a Registered Therapist.
• Assist or perform personal care including hair care, oral hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing.
• Assist with routine bodily functions.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment through light housekeeping and linen changes.
• Provide companionship and stimulation and accompany clients to appointments.
• Observe and report changes in client condition to the Agency Director.
• Turn or reposition bedridden patients.
• Examine patient for bruises or signs of injury.
