Job summary

Hospice Austin in Austin, TX is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide quality personal care under a Charge Nurse or Team Leader. You will follow the Plan of Care and perform supportive tasks to assist patients.

The role includes hygiene, vital signs, transfers, dressing, feeding support, and basic meds assistance as directed. CPR is required, current Texas CNA certification, and good standing on the Texas nurse aide registry. Hospice or home health experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, active Texas nurse aide certification (CNA).
• Currently listed in good standing on the Texas nurse aide/misconduct registry, with no finding against the aide relating to client abuse or neglect or misappropriation of client property, as verified through the Texas DHS.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with personal hygiene—baths, grooming, oral care, skin checks.
• Provides peri-care and Foley care maintenance.
• Dresses patients and assists with transfers and positioning.
• Takes vital signs and weights as directed.
• Ambulates patients and assists with ROM exercises.
• May perform simple non-sterile dressing changes as directed by RN.
• Assists with medications ordinarily self-administered and follows care plan instructions.
• Communicates changes in patient condition to the nursing team and documents care timely.
