Job summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Independent position with the State of Arkansas provides direct patient care under licensed nursing staff in state-operated facilities. You will assist patients with daily activities, monitor vital signs, support hygiene, and contribute to patient comfort.

Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED and an active Arkansas CNA certification, plus ongoing continuing education as required.

Qualifications

• Active Arkansas CNA certification required.
• Continuing education as mandated by state regulations.
• Ability to perform ADLs and monitor vital signs.
• Strong communication and observation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral care.
• Measure and record vital signs and report abnormalities to nursing staff.
• Maintain infection control protocols and proper PPE usage.
• Document patient information accurately in medical records.
• Assist in setting up and cleaning medical equipment used in patient care.
• Support nursing staff and patient comfort.
