Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Prior experience as LTC nursing assistant preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successful completion of State Approved Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program.
• Good standing in the state registry is required.

Responsibilities

• Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom to determine residents' needs.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Gives direct resident care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Explains procedures to residents.
• Monitors vital signs and records measurements as directed.
• Maintains cleanliness of resident units and equipment.
• Transports residents or assists with mobility needs.
• Notifies supervisor of changes in residents’ conditions.
