Job summary

DHR Health Brownsville is seeking a dedicated Certified Nurse Assistant to support direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed RN on a busy unit.

You will assist with patient care, transport, bedside housekeeping, documentation and daily routines while upholding safety and infection-control standards. A Texas CNA license and completion of an accredited CNA program are required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Certified Nurse Assistant program or PCT program required.
• Active Texas CNA license or Patient Care Tech certification required.
• Must be bilingual and able to read/write English.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values in daily care.
• Adheres to department instructions and established policies and procedures.
• Follows Standard Precautions and OSHA guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain records of observations and care given.
• Assist with admissions and orient families to the unit.
• Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for patients.
• Support nursing staff and report changes promptly.
• Measure and report vital signs and assist with transfers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
