Job summary

Eastern Health Group is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Suffolk, VA. Shifts available with daily pay and a sign-on bonus for full-time and part-time applicants. You will provide direct resident care under licensed supervision and support a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant certification from state OR
• Current/active CPR certification, preferred
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills
• Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care) of residents daily and as needed
• Identify and participate in process improvements to enhance resident care and workflow
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake/output, and food consumption
• Ambulate and transfer residents using proper devices and body mechanics
• Change bed linen and maintain supplies in resident rooms
• Observe residents and report changes to the Charge Nurse
• Assist in collecting data for MDS and care plans
• Assist in meal preparation and transport to dining areas
• Maintain housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas
• Assist with aseptic/sterile techniques to prevent infection
• Take vital signs (TPR, BP) as directed
• Answer call lights promptly and support resident needs
• Assist orientation and training of other staff
• Support staff with special projects and duties as assigned
