Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Nursing Assistant at the Miller, SD facility to provide resident-centered care during day shifts in a 40-hour week. The NA assists with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic health care needs under RN supervision, while upholding infection control policies.

The role requires CNA certification or enrollment within four months, a minimum age of 16, and prior long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA certification or be in process within four months of start date.
• Minimum age 16; prior long-term care experience preferred.
• HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Must complete yearly competency testing and 12 hours of CE annually.
• May be certified/registered with UAP Registry where applicable.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with valid license.
• Medically qualified to perform driving functions per policy.
• Drug screen and pre-employment background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Take and record vital signs and monitor resident condition.
• Support transfers and mobility using proper techniques.
• Assist with meals and dining to create a positive dining experience.
• Document resident interactions and care outcomes for the care plan.
• Follow infection prevention and PPE policies.
• Participate in wellness and recreational activities as needed.
