Job summary

Novant Health Ortho & Sports Medicine Clinic is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our patient-centered team. The CMA will room patients, assist with appointments, injections, and charting, while coordinating referrals and documentation to support high-quality care.

Ideal candidates hold current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or be eligible within six months, with medical office experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or eligible within 6 months.
• Current State Driver License (Palliative Care Only) required.
• Experience in a medical office preferred.
• Ability to complete skills validation and competency testing.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, manage referrals, injections, authorizations, bracing, wound care, staples and sutures, and MyChart messaging.
• Assist with patient intake, vital signs, documentation, and clinical procedures.
• Coordinate patient care activities for a seamless experience.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Foster relationships with patients, families, providers, and team members.
• Contribute to safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
