Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CMA certification from a recognized certifying body (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA).
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR AED certification with renewal on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Record patient vital signs, medical history, and current medications in EMR accurately.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure supplies are available and sanitized.
• Administer medications and vaccinations per established protocols.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and specimen collection following proper procedures.
• Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals, coordinating with other facilities as needed.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Maintain and update patient records with complete, accurate documentation.
• Assist with billing, filing and data entry as required by the office manager.
