Qualifications

• Must have a current, valid CMA certification in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage and time of administration on forms or records.
• Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or administers medication using procedures.
• Takes vital signs or observes residents to detect response to medications and prepares reports or notifies designated personnel of adverse reactions.
• Takes and records temperatures, blood pressure, pulse and respiration, and food and fluid intake/output as directed.
• Answers signal lights, bells or intercom to determine resident needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
