Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals' Queens Hospital Center is seeking a licensed midwife to provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, neonatal, and gynecologic care within standardized protocols.

Under supervision of the OB/GYN division, you will deliver comprehensive care, educate families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes in a busy urban hospital.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Midwife by the New York State Education Department.
• Experience providing antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care is preferred.
• Ability to follow written midwifery protocols approved by the Medical Board.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides health care for women and newborns.
• Builds a complete patient history and exam data.
• Assesses patient status and creates a care plan across prenatal to gynecologic periods.
• Educates patients and families on health maintenance, admission, discharge, and labor.
• Manages labor and delivery and performs required procedures.
• Provides newborn care and postpartum follow-up.
• Seeks medical consultation for deviations from standards.
• Documents care in the medical record.
• Gives contraceptive guidance and gynecologic care.
