Job summary

Lighthouse Senior Living at Ellicott City is seeking compassionate caregivers for full-time and PRN opportunities across all shifts in our Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhoods in Ellicott City, MD.

As a Caregiver, you will support residents' physical, personal, and emotional well-being, follow individualized service plans, report changes, and help residents maintain independence in a warm, respectful, and safe community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant Training Program preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification as required for the position.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Dependability, integrity and sound judgment.
• Commitment to protecting resident privacy and confidential health information.

Responsibilities

• Follow each resident's individualized service plan (ISP) to provide care with dignity and independence.
• Observe and promptly report changes in residents' conditions to the nursing supervisor.
• Document daily care, observations, and concerns throughout the shift, including overnight rounds.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and other information per training and policy.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, hygiene, dressing, and activities of daily living.
• Assist with positioning, mobility, and prescribed ROM exercises.
• Provide reassurance, reminders, and redirection based on resident needs.
• Encourage participation in activities and help residents attend programs and events.
• Assist with transfers and walking using proper techniques and equipment as needed.
• Escort residents for appointments and respond promptly to calls for help.
• Work with nursing staff to support resident needs and maintain safety.
• Keep rooms and common areas clean, orderly, and safe.
• Change linens, assist with laundry, and manage supplies per procedures.
• Support a restraint-free environment and participate in fall prevention.
• Welcome new residents and help them adjust to the community.
• Attend required training and associate meetings.
