Job summary

LifeSpire of Virginia is seeking CNAs and PCAs for part-time, as-needed roles focused on non-medical companionship and daily resident support. The position includes accompanying residents to appointments and activities, plus helping with light housekeeping, meals, and personal care as needed.

Responsibilities emphasize safety, respectful interaction, documentation, and collaboration with the care team. A positive attitude and English literacy are essential for success in this caregiving

Qualifications

• Pleasant personality and telephone etiquette.
• Possesses a high level of proficiency in the essential functions of this position.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assure provision of care and service, based on physical, psychological/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the residents served.
• Must be able to read and effectively write in English and follow written and verbal instructions. Knowledge of geriatric care or aging is required.
• Relevant skills include following directions, excellent people skills, customer service oriented, organization, attention to detail with good follow-through.
• Possess a positive attitude and a strong desire to help others.

Responsibilities

• Provide escort to and from medical appointments, and visits with family/friends or other outings.
• Interact with residents to ensure their needs are met and engage in conversation and companionship.
• Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation as needed.
• Monitor residents and report changes to supervisors.
• Support residents with daily activities and mobility assistance as required.
• Ensure confidentiality and follow community guidelines and policies.
