Job summary

Visiting Angels Albuquerque is hiring caregivers to serve clients across the local area including Cedar Crest, Albuquerque, Tijeras, Sedillo, Carnuel, Sandia Heights, and more. You will provide compassionate at-home care, personal assistance, and companionship on a 12-hour shift, with opportunities for advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
• Time-management skills to juggle multiple duties.
• First Aid and emergency response training is required (provided if needed).
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable vehicle to transport clients.
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes as scheduled.
• Ability to perform housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to comply with health and safety standards (background check).
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day for each client.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Planning and preparing meals with clients.
• Handling light housekeeping duties.
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents.
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompanying and supervising clients during shopping trips.
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments/errands.
