Job summary

Lafon Nursing Home in New Orleans, LA seeks compassionate healthcare professionals to provide direct care and support to residents within a collaborative care environment. You will work closely with nurses to promote comfort, dignity, safety, and daily well-being.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, transfers, vital signs, meal support, and documentation, while following infection control and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current Nurse Aide certification in good standing as required.
• Experience delivering direct patient care in healthcare settings preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, care plans and safety procedures.
• Physical ability to assist with lifting, repositioning, standing and walking.
• Reliable, compassionate and attentive approach to care.
• Basic computer or documentation skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility.
• Provide safe transfers, positioning and ambulation support.
• Measure and document vital signs, intake/output and other observations.
• Support meal service and assist with feeding per care plans.
• Maintain clean, organized care areas and equipment.
• Notice and report changes to nursing staff promptly.
• Follow infection control, safety and facility procedures.
• Offer companionship and respectful communication to residents.
• Assist with transport, errands and routine support tasks as directed.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and staff to support individualized care.
