Job summary

The State of Delaware is seeking an Activity Aide I to provide recreational and expressive activities for residents in care settings, supporting veterans and others in need. You will work as part of a dedicated team to enhance health, comfort, and quality of life with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities include guiding group activities, planning events, recording progress, and assisting with transportation or on-site care. Evening shifts and adherence to regulations are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of conducting group activities.
• Knowledge of working with persons with disabilities.
• Knowledge of applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of narrative report writing.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and instructs clients/patients in activities such as games, music, arts and crafts, and exercise.
• Plans and organizes trips and special events.
• Observes and records progress, problems and incidents.
• Conducts initial and ongoing client assessments and interest surveys.
• Develops treatment or goal attainment plans and participates on the treatment team.
• Performs minor maintenance and requisitions supplies.
• May drive and assist with trips off-site.
