Job summary

Whatnot is seeking a Company Operations Manager to design and run operating rhythms and cross-functional initiatives across markets. You will partner with leadership to drive strategic programs and ensure execution against aggressive goals.

The role emphasizes building tools, codifying decision rights, and delivering fast, impact-driven outcomes with AI-enabled approaches across Product, Engineering, and Ops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field.
• 5-7+ years in consulting, finance, or fast-growing startups.

Role

• The Company Operations Manager / Senior Manager plays a significant role in building the processes and tools that drive how Whatnot plans, decides, and executes. Working directly with Whatnot's leadership team, this role will work cross-functionally to lead large, critical initiatives and solve complicated, unstructured problems.

  This role is a terrific introduction to Whatnot, and allows impactful individuals to learn about the business while contributing to a variety of high-impact, critical initiatives.

  • Run the company's operating rhythm: Own core pieces of how Whatnot plans and executes — company planning and OKR cycles, business reviews across functions and international markets, and the operating cadences that keep teams accountable and moving fast

  • Build execution visibility: Build tooling to serve as a single source of truth for tracking progress against aggressive goals, highlighting key metrics, resource allocation, and blockers — helping teams stay lean and iterate faster

  • Make decision-making fast and clear: Map how decisions get made across functions and countries, codify decision-rights, and stand up the review forums that ensure changes across the business are measured and monitored on an ongoing basis

  • Help Whatnot run better: Regularly talk with teams across the business about what slows them down most, then systematically remove that friction — streamlining high-friction processes, improving how we run day-to-day, and rolling out best-in-class tooling with AI at the core

  • Deliver for our users: Everything above exists so Whatnot can build the best experience for buyers and sellers — partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to make sure the company is working on the right things, and own resolution of high-impact issues end-to-end when things go wrong

We offer flexibility to work from home or from one of our global office hubs, and we value in-person time for planning, problem-solving, and connection. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our LA, SF, NY or Seattle hubs.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field

• 5-7+ years experience in consulting, investment banking/private equity, or a fast-growing startup

• Experience designing and running operating processes (e.g., planning cycles, business reviews, OKRs, metric standardization) — and making them stick across teams

• Able to move remarkably fast with little structure, guidance

• Curious to learn about different parts of the business and how to pull certain levers to grow faster

• Ability to operate independently and go deep on ambiguous projects

• Demonstrated ability to work and influence cross-functionally. You are proactive, great at communicating with different audiences and can bring stakeholders on-board. You seek out and have a track record for driving change and impact in a fluid, unstructured working environment

• Fluency in using AI tools to enhance problem-solving, analysis, and execution across a wide range of business challenges

Nice to Have

• Experience working on a marketplace or a two-sided platform

• Experience or passion for buying and selling in online marketplace communities

• Experience standing up operating cadences, tooling, or process improvement at a scaling company

• Proficiency with SQL & dashboards
