Job summary

Premier Truck Rental (PTR) is hiring a Driver to safely transport our fleet across the United States. You will operate a CMV, perform labor tasks, and ensure DOT compliance while delivering high customer service.

The role requires a valid CDL with Airbrake, 2+ years of CMV experience, and a willingness to work overnights and weekends. PTR offers a hybrid location option in Indiana, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with Airbrake endorsement required.
• At least 2 years of CMV driving experience.
• Minimum age 21; High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and load/unload equipment.

• Clean MVR and DOT Physical compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CMV and adhere to traffic laws.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and complete required paperwork.
• Provide excellent customer service during transport.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance needs.
• Secure cargo per regulations and ensure vehicle is road-ready.
• Support loading/unloading when needed and work in varied conditions.

Driver

The Driver is a vital member of our team, responsible for safely and efficiently transporting our fleet to and from customer locations and external yards across the United States. This role involves operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV), performing labor tasks as needed, and ensuring full compliance with all DOT regulations and safety guidelines. The driver will be expected to maintain the highest standards of safety, customer service, and excellence in every aspect of their work.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate motor vehicles, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and adjusting to various traffic and road conditions.
• Ensure compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT guidelines, including maintaining accurate logbooks and undergoing required drug/alcohol screenings.
• Deliver outstanding customer service throughout the transportation process to PTR customers.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify that vehicles are in safe operating condition.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational integrity of vehicles and equipment, promptly reporting any necessary repairs or maintenance.
• Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork within the vehicle.
• Properly secure cargo before transit in compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Ensure that all equipment used is up-to-date and in optimal working condition

Requirements

MUST HAVE

• A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Airbrake endorsement.
• At least 2 years of experience driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle.
• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading fleet.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overnights and weekends.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Successful completion of a DOT Physical Examination and possession of a valid Medical Card.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Driver History Report.
• Proven understanding of proper loading and securing techniques to prevent freight movement and ensure safe transport.
• Willingness to assist with loading/unloading as needed.
• Ability to work in diverse conditions, including inclement weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with car hauling.
• Experience operating vehicles in various environments, including city traffic, highway traffic, and long-distance driving.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to maintain proactive and open communication with team members.
