Job summary

SYNERGY HomeCare is seeking a Companion Caregiver to provide non-medical support and companionship to clients at home across Wilson, Goldsboro, and Jacksonville. The role emphasizes safety, independence, and engagement through daily activities, light housekeeping, meal prep, and transportation assistance as needed.

Responsibilities include social interaction, meal planning, light cleanups, errands, and documenting services while adhering to HIPAA and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients in friendly conversation and meaningful social interaction.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement.
• Accompany clients on walks and recreational outings.
• Participate in hobbies, crafts, games, puzzles, reading, and other enjoyable activities.
• Encourage participation in community, social, and faith-based activities.
• Plan and prepare snacks and light meals.
• Encourage proper hydration and nutrition.
• Assist with meal setup and cleanup.
• Wash dishes and clean the kitchen after meal preparation.
• Dust, sweep, vacuum, and mop living areas.
• Change bed linens.
• Wash, dry, fold, and put away laundry.
• Organize and maintain a clean, safe living environment.
• Take out household trash and recycling.
• Drive clients to medical appointments and personal errands.
• Provide transportation to shopping, social events, church, and appointments.
• Grocery shop and complete household errands.
• Pick up prescriptions and other essential items.
• Provide medication reminders (no administration).
• Observe and report changes in client condition.
• Help reduce fall risks by maintaining a safe environment.
• Encourage independence with supervision.
• Accurately document services provided.
• Report concerns, incidents, or changes promptly.
• Follow all policies, HIPAA regulations, infection prevention practices, and safety standards.
