COMPANION, HOME HEALTH AIDE (HHA) OR PERSONAL CARE AIDE (PCA)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks.
  2. Assist with the personal care needs of the client (bathing, dressing, etc.).
  3. Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
  4. Transport client to doctor's office, grocery store and other essential errands.
  5. Assist client with the self-administration of medications.
  6. Observe and report any changes in the client's condition.
  7. Maintain regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department.
  8. Abide by all regulations, policies, procedures and standards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:

  1. Must be 18 years of age
  2. Pre-employment physical examination/PPD prior to patient contact
  3. Must be able to pass a criminal background check as per PA Department of Health regulations
  4. Reliable transportation is a plus; if by car, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required
  5. Nurturing and compassionate nature with the desire to care for others
  6. Ability to work with limited supervision
  7. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  8. Good communication and interpersonal skills
