Salary: $19.00 - $20 per hour

Job Description

The Companion Caregiver provides assistance with activities of daily living and certain "hands-on" care, such as personal hygiene, toileting, medication reminders, transfers, and ambulation. The caregiver also performs companion tasks like accompanying clients to appointments, maintaining a healthy and stable living environment, personal laundry, light housekeeping, and similar activities. The provision of "hands-on" care depends on licensing requirements in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

1. Assist patients with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, meal preparation and feeding, dressing, and ambulation.
2. Perform assigned duties accurately and promptly.
3. Maintain confidentiality of all client information according to HIPAA standards.
4. Follow infection control procedures to safeguard clients, including universal precautions.
5. Report abnormal findings or conditions to the office.
6. Follow the company's standards, policies, and procedures.
7. Arrive on time and leave after completing the shift.
8. Represent the company positively at all times.
9. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet client needs.
10. Communicate effectively with office staff and indicate availability for work.
11. Follow time and attendance policies.
12. Provide required documentation (e.g., Annual PPD, In-services) promptly and adhere to compliance standards.
13. Perform other personal care assistant duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

1. At least 1 year of personal care assistant experience within the last 3 years providing "hands-on" care.
2. Professional conduct and adherence to policies regarding boundaries.
3. Compassionate nature with strong interpersonal skills.
4. Effective communication skills, proficiency in English may be required.
5. Computer proficiency.
