Job summary

Senior Helpers of Central Phoenix seeks compassionate Companion Caregivers to provide one-on-one in-home support to seniors in West Central Phoenix. You will help with daily activities, safety, and companionship, enabling clients to stay independent at home.

The role offers flexible scheduling, with full-time, part-time, and PRN options, paid training, and ongoing caregiver education. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred; prior caregiving experience is welcome but

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful.
• Genuine interest in helping seniors remain safe and independent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and office staff.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and individualized care plans.
• Ability to pass required background and employment screenings.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling, communication, and documentation.
• Dependable attendance and ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
• Previous professional, family, or volunteer caregiving experience is preferred but not required.
• CNA, HHA, CPR, and/or First Aid certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and meaningful conversation.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Provide toileting and incontinence assistance when needed.
• Assist with walking, mobility, and safe transfers.
• Provide safety supervision and fall-prevention support.
• Prepare meals and assist with eating when needed.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Complete light housekeeping, laundry, and linen changes.
• Assist with grocery shopping and errands.
• Provide transportation to appointments and activities when required.
• Encourage social engagement and healthy daily routines.
• Provide respite support for family caregivers.
• Support clients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other conditions.
• Follow each client’s individualized care plan.
• Complete accurate and timely shift documentation.
• Observe and report changes in a client’s condition.
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, and Senior Helpers office team.
• Follow all Senior Helpers policies, procedures, and safety standards.
