Job summary

Visiting Angels Eastside WA is seeking a compassionate Companion Caregiver to support clients across Kirkland, Redmond, and neighboring communities. You will help with personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, transportation, and friendly companionship, following each client’s care plan under the supervision of our local office.

This role offers flexible schedules, weekly pay, and opportunities for advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time-management and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to client homes on schedule.
• Comfort with carrying groceries and assisting mobility.
• Comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking with dietary constraints.
• Willing to comply with health and safety standards (background checks).
• Compassion and desire to brighten clients’ day.

Responsibilities

As a Visiting Angels Companion Caregiver, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

Visiting Angels offers opportunities for advanced training in areas like dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care for caregivers seeking to broaden their skills.

Companion Caregiver Job Requirements:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table

License:
