Job summary

Visiting Angels Springfield is seeking a Companion Caregiver to support seniors in the Central Illinois area. The role offers flexible hours with full-time, part-time or PRN, a pay rate of $16-$20 per hour, and benefits including health and dental insurance, PTO, and a $400 sign-on bonus.

You will assist with medications, mobility, personal care, meals, light housekeeping, and companionship, while providing safe, compassionate care in clients’ homes. Training and mentorship are provided.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Own a vehicle with current insurance.
• Respectful and compassionate, with strong ethics.
• Good time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation, mobility, and transportation.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients' input.
• Perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Provide companionship and report any incidents.

Companion Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Companion Caregiver Requirements
