Visiting Angels - Sacramento Midtown, CA is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support elderly clients in Davis, Sacramento and surrounding areas. The role offers hourly wages starting at $19.00–$21.00, with flexible full-time or part-time shifts and weekly pay.

As a Companion Caregiver, you will assist with personal care, light housekeeping, meals, mobility, transportation, and medication reminders, helping clients stay safely at home with dignity and compassion.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the US.
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to client homes on schedule.
• Comfort with housekeeping and cooking within dietary constraints.
• Willing to comply with health and safety standards (background check).
• Compassion, understanding, and desire to brighten clients' day.
• Can use a smartphone for EVV and caregiver notes.
• Can pass Live Scan fingerprinting background checks.
• Have a negative TB test within last 90 days.
• Registered on California Home Care Aide Registry.

A Visiting Angels Companion Caregiver wears many hats as they help our elderly and home-care clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity.

While no two client visits look exactly alike, responsibilities may include:

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks

A Companion Caregiver must also be prepared to act quickly in the case of medical emergencies. This includes adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances. Our caregivers possess the ideal blend of competency, compassion, and professional discernment.

Companion Caregiver Job Requirements

• Must be 18 years old and able to work legally in the US
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot record
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
• Must be able to use a smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV) and caregiver notes
• Ability to pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting
• Have a negative TB screening within the last 90 days
• Registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry
