Coastal Construction Equipment, LLC is expanding services in Southern Florida, seeking a Shop Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain CAT compact equipment. This role covers both shop and field work, prioritizing safety and quality while minimizing downtime.

You will troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical systems and work with the team to ensure timely repairs and accurate documentation. High school diploma required; technical training or diesel/heavy equipment repair degree preferred.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or an associate degree in diesel technology or heavy equipment repair preferred.
• Certifications in diesel tech or hydraulics are a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment in the shop.
• Complete preventative maintenance including fluid changes, inspections, and adjustments.
• Document findings, parts used, and repairs in work orders.
• Communicate equipment condition and recommended repairs to supervisors.
• Maintain tools and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
• Follow safety procedures and regulatory standards.
• Assist with moving equipment in and out of the shop as needed.
• Support warranty repair processes and proper documentation.

Stowers Machinery is proud to expand from East Tennessee into Southern Florida through the opening of Coastal Construction Equipment, LLC, the region's CAT Compact Equipment Dealer. This expansion strengthens our ability to provide customers with exceptional sales, rental, parts, and service support.

Qualified new technician hires are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus, paid in two installments: $2,500 after 90 days + $2,500 after 180 days.

Eligibility requirements apply. Bonus payments are subject to applicable payroll taxes.

The Coastal Construction Compact Equipment Shop Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and performing preventative maintenance on compact construction and utility equipment in both shop and field environments. This position supports daily service operations by completing work orders safely, efficiently, and accurately while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The technician works closely with Shop Supervisors, Service Managers, and fellow technicians to prioritize repairs, maintain workflow, and minimize equipment downtime. This role requires the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems, perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications, and ensure all work meets company safety and quality standards. The Compact Equipment Technician represents Stowers Machinery through professional interactions with customers and coworkers while contributing to a productive, team-oriented service environment.

Requirements

• Understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, shop equipment, and repair procedures.
• Strong communication skills for reporting findings and coordinating with shop leadership.
• Ability to complete accurate documentation and follow established processes.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, PPE requirements, and shop best practices.

Preferred Qualification(s)

• Experience repairing heavy equipment, diesel engines, or related machinery.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment and dealership service processes.
• Certifications in diesel technology, hydraulics, or equipment repair.
• Bilingual, English & Spanish

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or an Associate degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment repair, or a related field preferred.

Essential Job Functions

Preferred Experience And Skills

• Hands on experience with heavy equipment diagnostics and repair.
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar service systems and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high volume shop environment.

Physical And Mental Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, or move heavy components and tools as required.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, or work in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Ability to wear required PPE in shop environments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in a fast paced setting.
• Must meet requirements for driving company vehicles if applicable.

Work Environment

• Primarily a shop based role with regular exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditions.
• Technicians may be needed in the field, based on business needs
• Frequent interaction with technicians, supervisors, and parts personnel.
• Fast paced environment requiring adaptability and strong communication.
• Standard work schedule with potential overtime during peak demand.
