Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium in Juneau, AK is seeking a Data & Analytics Specialist to oversee data collection, management, analysis, and reporting for the Community Wellness Department and WISEWOMAN program. The role collaborates with CDC, ANTHC, and state partners to improve reporting, build dashboards, and mentor junior staff while aligning with grant goals and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience in data analytics, health information management, health science, accounting, data entry, or a related field.
  • Grant experience preferred.
  • Four years or more of experience working with data analysis and reporting, along with the healthcare revenue cycle preferred.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or similar certification.
  • Knowledge of Electronic health records, PHI handling, charges submission for grants, CPT/HCPCS codes, and revenue codes.

Pay Range: Pay Range:$36.46 - $51.29

Department

This position functions within the SEARHC Community Wellness Department. This position will collaborate with other SEARHC departments and strategic partners to improve patient access to comprehensive prevention and healthcare services. This would include, but not limited to, coordination of program activities, documentation of services, eligibility screening, reimbursement for services using grant funds, and expansion of services. The purpose of this position is to oversee the data collection, management, analysis, and reporting functions needed to support regulatory, quality, and strategic healthcare services for the Community Wellness Department and WISEWOMAN Women’s Health Program. Data accuracy, reliability, and consistency are vital to monitoring and improving patient care at SEARHC, and to meeting Community Wellness grant and program requirements.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all required, regulatory, and quality improvement data reports for various external and internal stakeholders such as CDC, HHS, NIH, IHS, HRSA, as well as the senior management team.
  • Lead analyses of clinical, quality, and service provision data to support operational and strategic needs.
  • Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Work with partners at CDC, ANTHC, and across the State to enhance data reporting and utility.
  • Attend required and relevant reporting entity meetings and trainings.
  • Train and mentor the junior members of the Data & Analytics Team, as directed by Community Wellness Nurse Manager
  • Obtains and compares data from multiple sources and reviews for discrepancies using various applications
  • Performs quality assurance and validation tasks
  • Provides education to patient revenue generating departments to ensure compliant charging and coding practices for the Community Wellness Department
  • Collaborate with Patient Financial Services, Patient Access and Community Wellness Departments to develop and support workflows
  • Review provider documentation to ensure reimbursement for services
  • Reviews requests from other departments related to coding and charge capture
  • Provides guidance, communicates, and serves as subject matter expert for assigned service line related to the billing process, and other related subjects related to Community Wellness charges.
  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams.
  • Complete data entry and analysis for a lengthy amount of time.
  • Work on different projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced setting with overlapping commitments and deadlines
  • Assist the Community Wellness Department in achieving grant requirements and goals.
  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including special projects deemed necessary to meet grant guidelines.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience in data analytics, health information management, health science, accounting, data entry, or a related field
  • Grant experience preferred
