Job summary

Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTA) is seeking a Transportation Planner – Community Planning to support the development of regional transportation projects across the Genesee-Finger Lakes area. You’ll help shape corridor, neighborhood, active transportation, multi-modal and ITS plans, ensuring accessibility for all ages and incomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of transportation planning policies, best practices, and related regulations (MPO-focused).
• Ability to analyze data, define problems, and develop implementation strategies.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a team setting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop community transportation planning projects including corridor and neighborhood plans.
• Coordinate with state, county, and municipal sponsors to manage projects.
• Procure and oversee consultant services under UPWP for local communities.
• Represent GTC at conferences and meetings with stakeholders.
• Prepare analyses applying transportation research to regional plans and programs.
