Community Therapy Team Administrator

Due to service expansion and integration of our community therapy teams, we are looking for an additional administration assistant to join the North Lancashire Integrated Community Therapy Team, based at the community offices, Moor Lane Mill, Lancaster.

The service works closely with inpatient therapists, ward-based discharge coordinators, the complex discharge team, the Integrated Care Communities within Primary Care, local GPs, Adult Social Care, and other community-based healthcare teams—District Nurses, Long-term Conditions, Specialist Nursing Services such as Palliative Care, Diabetes, Cardiology, Bladder & Bowel Services, and multiple community and voluntary sector groups. The service supports people with a wide variety of health conditions to regain their optimal level of function and independence where possible.

Main duties of the job

To provide confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Community Therapy & Rehabilitation Service working across two Lancaster bases.

The position includes receiving and registering electronic referrals, general administrative duties, and dealing with telephone calls from patients and other professionals.

Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies using various IT systems.

Working with multiple IT systems to process patient-related information.

About us

We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as several community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and RLI offer a range of general hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various consultant-led services.

WGH provides general hospital services, an Urgent Treatment Centre, and helps with non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three hospitals provide planned care, including outpatient services, diagnostics, therapies, day-case, and inpatient surgery. Additionally, outreach services and diagnostics are provided across Morecambe Bay.
