Qualifications

  • Experience in community outreach, health education, HIV prevention, healthcare navigation, or a related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Clinical experience with HIV prevention and harm reduction strategies is desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Comfortable using computers, telehealth platforms, email, and electronic documentation systems.
  • Understanding of diversity in sexual and gender minority communities is valued.
  • Ability to multitask and travel to partnering agencies and events.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct community outreach and promote awareness of PrEP and TelePrEP services.

  • Engage clients in a welcoming, confidential, and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Assist clients with scheduling TelePrEP appointments and access to technology.
  • Navigate laboratory testing through Labcorp/Quest or self-sampling options.
  • Invite eligible clients to participate in required surveys and assist with outreach logs.
  • Maintain organized program documentation and protect client confidentiality.
  • Communicate with the research team and report to supervisor.
  • Participate in training, meetings, outreach events, and program activities.

Community TelePrEP Navigator

The Community TelePrEP Navigator serves as a trusted community-based resource supporting individuals in accessing HIV prevention services through the Philadelphia TelePrEP Program. The Navigator provides PrEP education, community outreach, telehealth navigation, client follow-up, and connection to supportive services. The position will also support implementation research activities for the STEP-UP (Streamlining Telehealth for Equitable PrEP Utilization through Community Partnerships) study.

The Navigator will work closely with organizational staff, healthcare providers, the Philadelphia TelePrEP Program, and the STEP-UP research team to reduce barriers to PrEP access and strengthen community-based HIV prevention.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Outreach & PrEP Education
  • Conduct community outreach and promote awareness of PrEP and TelePrEP services.
  • Provide culturally responsive PrEP education and answer questions about accessing PrEP.
  • Explain the Philadelphia TelePrEP Program and available COLOURS support.
  • Engage clients in a welcoming, confidential, and nonjudgmental manner.
TelePrEP Navigation
  • Assist clients with scheduling TelePrEP appointments.
  • Help clients access technology and private space for telehealth appointments when needed.
  • Assist clients with navigating laboratory testing through Labcorp/Quest, or applicable self-sampling options.
  • Identify barriers to accessing PrEP and connect clients with appropriate supportive resources.
  • Follow up with clients after TelePrEP appointments and assist with next steps.
STEP-UP Research Support
  • Invite eligible clients to participate in required surveys and provide survey invitation information.
  • Complete Outreach, Navigation, and Time-Activity Cost Logs accurately and on time.
  • Maintain organized program and research documentation while protecting client confidentiality.
  • Communicate implementation questions or challenges to the designated research team.
  • Report to the designated COLOURS supervisor and participate in regular check‑ins.
  • Communicate with the Philadelphia TelePrEP Program and STEP-UP research team as needed.
  • Participate in required training, meetings, outreach events, and program activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in community outreach, health education, HIV prevention, healthcare navigation, or a related field preferred.
  • Preferred candidate – High School Diploma or GED;
  • Clinical experience with HIV prevention and harm reduction strategies;
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Comfortable using computers, telehealth platforms, email, and electronic documentation systems.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the cultural and ethnic diversity of sexual and gender minority people of color;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Willingness to travel to partnering agencies, client appointments, boards and committees that support program outcomes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
  • Reliable, organized, self-directed, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Lived experience and/or strong knowledge of Philadelphia communities disproportionately affected by HIV is highly valued.
  • Willing to work evening weekends, Flexibility is a must
