Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. in Manhattan, NY is seeking a Community Technician for the 11pm–7:30am shift, Tuesday through Saturday, in a 24/7 program with mandatory overtime.

You will provide a steady, compassionate presence for individuals experiencing homelessness, perform rounds, de-escalation, and crisis response. Experience in trauma-informed care is beneficial, with on-the-job training and certifications offered by BRC.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications (CPR/First Aid, Narcan, etc.).

• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.

• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.

• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).

At BRC, every shift matters. As a Community Technician, you’re a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness—often supporting people in moments of crisis, uncertainty, or transition.

This hands-on, frontline role is ideal for those interested in social work, human services, public health, or emergency response. No prior shelter experience required—just strong judgment, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

What You’ll Do
