Bowery Residents' Committee is hiring a Community Technician to provide a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness. You will monitor, engage, de-escalate, and respond to crises while documenting outcomes and managing safety protocols on every shift.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong communication, basic computer skills, and a willingness to obtain certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.

• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.

Community Technician

Full-Time | 37.5 hours/week | 24/7 Program | Mandatory Overtime

At BRC, every shift matters. As a Community Technician, you’re a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness—often supporting people in moments of crisis, uncertainty, or transition.

This hands-on, frontline role is ideal for those interested in social work, human services, public health, or emergency response. No prior shelter experience required—just strong judgment, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds
