Bowery Residents' Committee seeks a Community Technician to provide a steady, compassionate presence for individuals experiencing homelessness across a 24/7 program. You will monitor, de‑escalate crises, and support safety and daily operations on each shift.

This role requires trauma‑informed engagement, strong communication, and readiness for mandatory overtime and overtime coverage. BRC offers training, certifications, tuition support, and opportunities to advance within a mission‑driven team

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in crisis intervention or homelessness services is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.

Full-Time | 37.5 hours/week | 24/7 Program | Mandatory Overtime

At BRC, every shift matters. As a Community Technician, you’re a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness—often supporting people in moments of crisis, uncertainty, or transition.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally

• Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
• Morning, evening, and overnight shifts available
