Job description

Do you enjoy going on adventures and being outdoors? If so, we could have the role for you!

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to join us to support Mike on a part-time basis. To be considered for this role, you would need to have a Full UK driving license.

Please note: Autism Unlimited does not provide visa sponsorship

The role

Mike is in his early 30s and lives independently in his own home in Wareham. He communicates using PECS boards, which support him in making choices and decisions throughout his day.

Mike has a big love for music – Tina Turner is a firm favourite! At home, he enjoys baking sweet treats and spending time with his support team.

He’s always up for a bit of adventure. Whether it’s a trip to the Bovington Tank Museum, a visit to the seaside town of Swanage, or a mini break to Blackpool with his mum and support staff, Mike loves to get out and about.

When the weather calls for staying indoors, you’ll often find him enjoying a Disney film with his support team.

Hours of work

Shifts are completed on a two-week rolling rota, averaging 15.5 hours per week. Sleep-ins come with an additional payment.

Week 1

Sunday - 15:00 – 22:00 + sleep

Week 2

Monday - 10:00 – 15:00

Thursday - 15:00 – 22:00 + sleep

Sunday - 10:00 – 22:00 + sleep

At the heart of everything we do is promoting the independence of the person we support. Having a relaxed, empathetic, and encouraging team helps us achieve this.

A day in the life of a Support Worker would include:

  • Maintaining accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments, and medication
