Job summary

Rosie’s Place in Boston, MA, is seeking an Essential Services Worker to support the Food Pantry, Dining Room, and Front Desk. The role reports to the Senior Director of Emergency Services and requires flexibility to work across multiple departments to assist guests with essential needs.

You will contribute to a warm, safe environment, handle crises with care, and help manage daily operations across programs. The position is full-time with weekend hours and a strong benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Work in Rosie’s Place Food Programs, including the Food Pantry and Dining Room.
• Sort, pack, and distribute food; check in guests via computer database; stock shelves; clean and sanitize spaces.
• Prepare and serve meals; stock supplies; clean kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist in Front Lobby: log guest names, answer phones and doors, sort mail, assist guests with needs; monitor guest resources like phones, laundry, showers.
• Respond to inquiries and concerns in a dignified, respectful manner.
• Intervene in guests’ crises and emergencies with care and discretion.
• Be flexible to work across departments as assigned.
• Perform additional duties as needed by the Senior Director of Emergency Services or program managers.
