Job summary

Rauch, Inc. seeks a Community Support Professional – Respite to deliver personalized respite care within a community living framework. You will assist individuals with daily living, transportation, and meaningful activities, while safeguarding health and safety.

Role emphasizes empathy, independence, and person-centered planning, with opportunities to collaborate with families and partners in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Experience with developmental disabilities or volunteer/teaching with this group is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to person-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respite services aligned with each person’s ISP.
• Support daily living skills, personal care, and community integration.
• Foster independence, self-advocacy, and informed decision-making.
• Provide transportation to activities, appointments, and services.
• Monitor progress and share updates with the team.
• Complete accurate documentation, including notes and medication records.
• Build relationships with individuals, families, and community partners.
• Support leisure, recreation, and social activities; respond to crises when needed.

Description:

JOB TITLE: Community Support Professional – Respite

DEPARTMENT: Community Living

SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Community Living Director

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None

JOB STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Varies; hours may vary to accommodate needs of person served.

Summary:

Provide community-based respite support to individuals with extraordinary support needs. This role focuses on enhancing quality of life by promoting independence, community participation, and meaningful daily experiences while ensuring health, safety, and person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver respite services in alignment with each individual’s Individualized Support Plan (ISP)
• Support individuals with daily living skills, personal care, and community integration
• Foster independence, self-advocacy, and informed decision-making
• Provide transportation to community activities, appointments, and services as needed
• Monitor individual progress and communicate updates to the team
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, including service notes and medication records
• Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and community partners
• Support individuals in leisure, recreational, and social activities
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency support when necessary

Physical & Work Requirements:

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work every other weekend
• Ability to provide personal care (e.g., toileting, bathing, feeding) with dignity and respect
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility support
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
• May be required to provide support in other Community Living programs (e.g., Supported Living, In-Home Services) as needed
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance

Certifications & Training Requirements:

• CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification
• Certified Restraint Training
• Core A & B certification
• Completion of required agency and regulatory trainings (e.g., Human Rights, Safety, Medication Administration)

$350 Sign-on Bonus eligible position. Must be scheduled a minimum of 20 hours per week for the sign on bonus.

Education/Experience Requirements:
