Job summary

The City of Riverside Police Department is seeking Community Services Officer(s) to join our team in Riverside, California. This journey-level civilian support role provides liaison services, performs specialized tasks, and supports multiple divisions within the Police Department.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and involves varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. An eligibility list may be used for current and future vacancies.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED).
• At least one year of responsible public contact experience in enforcement of public laws.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Process and prioritize arrest reports and assist with arrest packages.
• Assist records personnel with permits, licenses, and alarm system management.
• Assist in fingerprinting, photographing and interviewing registrants and suspects; maintain files.
• Provide information to the public and access records databases as needed.
• Patrol an assigned area; assist with training volunteers, cadets, and Crossing Guards.
• Issue citations or warnings and handle vehicle impounds as required.
• Respond to calls involving crime scenes; collect evidence and assist investigations.
• Compile information, gather evidence, and testify in court as required.
