Job summary

The Fedcap Group in New York is seeking a Community Service Specialist to manage a caseload of participants engaged in WeCARE programs. You will develop and oversee community service sites and assignments to support employment goals.

You will educate on-site supervisors, match participants to appropriate assignments, and assist enrollment in education or training aligned with individual plans. Regular visits ensure compliance and accommodations.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience working with employment programs for individuals facing barriers to employment.
• Bilingual English and Spanish candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of job-seeking participants in WeCARE.

• Mediate conflicts between site supervisors and participants.
• Document referrals and follow-ups in SEAMS HRA system.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure contract compliance and accommodations.

What You’ll Do

The Community Service Specialist is responsible for managing a caseload of job-seeking participants who engage in a Community Service assignment or who are enrolled in education or vocational training programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop new non-profit Community Service sites and assignments appropriate for WeCARE participants.
• Educate and train designated on-site supervisors about oversight of WeCARE participant attendance and job duties.
• Match participants with Community Service assignments based on the results of their biopsychosocial assessment, Individual Vocational Assessment and Plan (IVAP), and special accommodation needs.
• Assist participants with enrolling in education and vocational training programs that align with their goals outlined in their Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans.
• Supervise Community Service participant timekeeping and MetroCard distribution activities.
• Identify and assist with mitigating barriers to Community Service participation, including, but not necessarily limited to, physical and/or mental health barriers, housing, childcare, and domestic violence issues.
• Mediate conflicts between Community Service site supervisors and Community Service participants, as necessary.
• Document Community Service referrals and follow-up activities in SEAMS, the HRA management information system.
• Conduct regular site visits to Community Service sites to ensure contractual compliance of Community Service partnerships and that all necessary reasonable accommodations are in place for WeCARE participants.

You’re a great fit for this role if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, such as psychology, vocational rehabilitation, or occupational rehabilitation, from an accredited institution is required.
• Two (2) years of experience working with employment programs for individuals with barriers to employment or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates preferred.

Compensation:

$22.12-$23.08/hr
