Community Service Officer II - Emory Police Department

Position Overview

Emory University, a leading research institution, seeks dedicated candidates to contribute to our academic community. The Community Service Officer II supports campus safety and community relations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide support for low-risk public safety situations within Emory Police jurisdiction.
  2. Operate police vehicles to assist motorists and community members.
  3. Direct traffic during events, parades, and demonstrations.
  4. Assist with crowd control at large events and promote community relations.
  5. Report situations requiring sworn officers or emergency response.
  6. Prepare reports on traffic incidents, fraud, criminal mischief, missing persons, and abandoned vehicles.
  7. Testify in court as needed.
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
ADA Compliance
  • Physical Ability: Tasks may involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bicycle riding, walking, standing, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Sensory Requirements: Ability to perceive colors, sounds, odors, and visual cues.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate orally.
  • Environmental Factors: Exposure to various environmental conditions and hazards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of experience in law enforcement, security, parking, or customer service, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license with an insurable record.
