Job summary

Los Angeles LGBT Center is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment across its facilities. The role requires enforcing center policies, patrolling, documenting incidents, and coordinating with law enforcement as needed.

The position is full‑time, non‑exempt, union, with a weekend schedule. Candidates should have a California Guard Card, at least 1 year of security experience, and a sensitivity to LGBT and homeless communities. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, and more.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of work experience as a security guard.
• Must be sensitive to the needs of LGBT people and homeless youth and adults.
• Availability to work a rotating shift and weekends as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly patrols of grounds and facilities.
• Enforce Center policies and procedures.
• Report suspicious activities, property damage, and safety hazards.
• Respond to fire alarms, panic buttons, and disturbances.
• Escort disruptive individuals off the property and coordinate with security or law enforcement when needed.
• Assist local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
• Ensure all buildings are clear after closing and perform checks.
