Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Some experience in public contact work.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Must successfully complete all background checks including oral board interview, polygraph, psychological exam, credit check, background investigation, pre-employment physical and drug screening.
• Knowledge of city policies, police operations, and how to use standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and prepare written reports for motor vehicle crashes and delayed crimes.
• Enforce parking and non-criminal traffic laws; patrol designated areas.
• Respond to traffic complaints and direct traffic as needed.
• Perform school crossing guard duties.
• Incorporate community policing philosophies in daily interaction with the community.
• Foster positive employee relations and morale on a City-wide basis.
