Job summary

Town of Pecos City is seeking a Patrol Officer to protect residents and property through enforcement, education and role modeling in daily patrols by vehicle or on foot.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, directing traffic, investigating incidents and assisting with community safety education. A high school diploma, TCOLE certification, and a valid Texas driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related coursework or police experience preferred.
• Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) basic certification required.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas by vehicle or on foot to prevent crimes and enforce laws.
• Responds to emergencies and routine complaints and takes necessary action.
• Directs traffic and issues citations when needed.
• Conducts initial investigations of accidents and offenses and records findings.
• Testifies in court and assists with community policing and safety education.
