Reed College is seeking Community Safety Staff to ensure campus safety and support student success. This full-time role involves responding to emergencies, providing customer service, and engaging with the campus community. Ideal candidates will have a valid driver's license and experience in customer service, with a commitment to diversity and teamwork.
Reed College Community Safety Staff are part of the Office of Student Life and a team that supports student success and the mission of the college. The Office of Community Safety fulfills campus safety and security needs by providing a wide range of services, including overseeing emergency preparedness, assisting students, responding to reports of medical and mental health emergencies, reacting to fire and other alarms, and many more supportive services for the campus community. At Reed, Community Safety responsibilities begin with connecting with students, staff, and faculty as community partners. While we receive training typical of traditional security staff, we emphasize service to the community and collaboration across the college. Learn more about our Community Safety staff here.
We train all new hires on the job through our two-month Field Training Evaluation Program, with extensive, ongoing in-service training. Successful candidates come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

This is a full-time position scheduled to work 40 hours per week. The night shift position is scheduled from 9 pm to 7 am. There may be times when you are asked to work a shift outside your normal schedule. Starting pay is $21.82 per hour plus a night shift differential of $1.25 per hour.
