Job summary

Samaritan Daytop Village, Inc. is seeking a Security Counselor to provide essential security services across our facilities in the New York City area. The role focuses on monitoring, safety, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for clients, staff, and visitors.

Under supervision, you will perform hourly rounds, assist with admissions and welfare checks, and respond to crises as needed. On-site position with competitive hourly pay and community impact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year security guard/officer experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR; ability to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily security monitoring and oversight to maintain a safe environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
• Assist with check-in processes, monitoring, and assessing client well-being.
• Conduct hourly rounds to secure doors, belongings, and property; escort individuals as needed.
• Assist with wake-up duties, safety checks, and scheduled evacuation drills.
• Handle crisis interventions and diffused altercations when necessary.
• Monitor entrances/departures and perform client locker searches.
