Job summary

Block by Block is hiring Safety Ambassadors for mid and 2nd shifts to patrol downtown areas and deter unwanted behavior while assisting workers, residents, and visitors. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour, with overtime potentially available.

Shifts run from 10:00am to 6:30pm or 2:00pm to 10:30pm; days off are to be determined. This role emphasizes safety, information dissemination, and professional conduct in public spaces.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language to communicate clearly.
• Document activities utilizing the SMART System.

Responsibilities

• PATROL the streets on foot or Segway to deter unwanted activity and be a presence in assigned zones.
• OBSERVE and REPORT any suspicious activity and describe persons or vehicles accurately.
• ADDRESS low-level quality of life issues firmly and politely.
• PROVIDE hospitality and directions to pedestrians and visitors.
• BUILD relationships with district businesses and share information on behalf of the customer.
• WRITE daily shift activity reports and incident reports as required.
