Job summary

Avera Research Institute in Sioux Falls seeks a Community Engagement and Partnerships Specialist to advance awareness and collaboration with research partners, community orgs, government agencies, and healthcare providers. You will help build and coordinate opportunities to promote Institute activities across diverse audiences.

The role requires strong communication, relationship-building, and project coordination, with a Bachelor's degree and hours aligning to the organization’s schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, marketing, social work, communications, public policy or related field.
• Visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Works with Avera Research Institute leadership to meet strategic goals for community engagement and partnerships.
• Using effective communication strategies and leadership, develops and implements plans for establishing and maintaining relationships with key partners including: Community organizations and leadership, Government agencies, research collaborators, healthcare providers.
• Coordinates and participates in meetings and activities supporting internal and external partnerships and contribute to community engagement efforts in study start up, internal projects and with external collaborators.
• Prepares community engagement reports or materials for presentations events, and meetings.
• Documents and tracks community engagement processes and activities.
• Identifies opportunities for innovation and diversification of partnerships and collaborations.
• Utilizes excellent verbal and written communication skills to connect with a variety of stakeholders along with Microsoft Office and other web platforms to conduct job activities.
