Job summary

Jewish Akron seeks a Community Relations & Jewish Advocacy Officer to strengthen ties within the Greater Akron Jewish community and beyond. The role leads proactive education, engagement, and response strategies to antisemitism.

The officer will build partnerships, work with civic and educational leaders, and coordinate community initiatives to advance JewishAkron’s mission and visibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Advanced degree in public affairs or related field preferred.
• Experience in community relations, advocacy, or nonprofit leadership is expected.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a representative and ambassador for JewishAkron in the community.
• Support CRC and work with volunteers to set priorities and initiatives.
• Build relationships with civic leaders, nonprofits, schools, and business leaders.
• Increase visibility and reputation through outreach and community activities.
• Identify partnerships to support JewishAkron’s goals.
• Advise leadership on responses to antisemitism and engagement opportunities.
• Organize educational programs, coalitions, and interfaith initiatives.
• Monitor antisemitism trends and provide updates to leadership.
