Community Relations & External Affairs Coordinator

The Community Relations and External Affairs Coordinator will be responsible for assisting indeveloping and fostering positive relationships with community organizations and members of thecommunity through the creation and execution of Community Advisory / Accountability Boards for boththe Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) and the Restoration Center (MRC).Through regular communication, this person will deepen engagement and maintain regular communication with partners, advocacy groups as well as healthcare providers to foster trust, collaboration and shared vision.

Job Responsibilities
  • Works to develop, grow, and sustain Community Advisory/Accountability Boards (CAB) for the CBHCand MRC by identifying referral sources and following up on leads to serve on the CAB and execute theCAB’s vision, and providing administrative support.
  • Acts as a liaison within Vinfen and with external agencies on a regular basis, including but not limitedto community-based organizations, healthcare partners and providers, community organizers andadvocacy groups and community advisory committees. Exercises discretion at all times when dealingwith internal and external contacts.
  • Routinely attends identified community coalition meetings and occasionally staff tables at communityevents with some evenings or weekends required.
  • Deepens engagement and communication with partners, advocacy groups and healthcare providers tobuild trust, collaboration and shared vision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. In some cases, experience may be substituted for academic
training.

  • Experience with services for people with mental health and/or substance use disorders, justice involved and/or unhoused individuals preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in community engagement, professional or volunteer-based,required.
  • Bilingual capability in Khmer, Spanish, or Portuguese, preferred
